Ma-Mow-We-Tak Adult Basic Education Program
Students who have attended this
program have been very committed and this has been evident in the individual
progress they have made. Students have achieved education, employment and
personal goals.
Some students have gone on to attend University College of the
North, some have obtained employment and others have achieved a level of
education that enables them to assist their children with homework, etc.
In
addition to academics, extra-curricular activities such as tours, field trips,
guest speakers, etc. take place.

Employment Assistance Services Program
This program offers the community with
employment and economic development related services. A variety of services are
provided and consist of employment readiness workshops, resume preparation,
interview preparation, job search techniques, Manitoba labour laws, labour
market information, etc.
Economic development supports are available including
business plans, financial assistance information, etc.
In addition, individual
employment/education counselling, workshops, community presentations, etc. are

Partners for Careers Program
This program focuses on providing assistance to graduates of
post-secondary education programs/institutes in seeking employment.
The Partners for Careers Counsellor
networks within the community and matches employers and graduates for
employment. Additionally, related workshops are delivered and
partnerships have been established to provide other activities such as
employer luncheons, etc.

Youth Employment Assistance Services Program
Offers youth assistance in
seeking and obtaining employment. A variety of services are provided and consist
of employment readiness workshops, resume preparation, interview preparation,
job search techniques, Manitoba labour laws, labour market information, etc.
Additional supports are provided to youth to ensure that any issues or barriers
they have that prevent them from achieving employment, training and education
goals are addressed. If additional counseling is required, a referral is made.
In addition, individual employment/education counseling, various workshops,
community presentations, etc. are conducted. For further information, please

The Ma-Mow-We-Tak Friendship Centre has partnered with the Thompson Employment
Development Centre and the Manitoba Metis Federation - Thompson Local Management
Board, to develop and deliver Employment Training Programs and Employment
Opportunities Programs.
The Ma-Mow-We-Tak Friendship Centre has delivered
training programs and training opportunities programs for the following
positions: Receptionist, Outreach Counsellor, Program Manager, Education
Assistant, Employment Counsellor, Accounting Clerk, Events & Promotions
Coordinator and others.
The majority of the training participants are hired by
the Ma-Mow-We-Tak Friendship Centre upon successful completion of the training
program; others are completing their training program.
